Recently, while attending the Deeper Learning Conference and visiting Stanford University as part of the BMGS Futures Tour, Head of Junior School Christopher Sanders found himself returning to one recurring question: “Is this an opportunity or a distraction?” In education right now, there is no shortage of things competing for attention: AI, wellbeing, technology, pedagogy, innovation, future skills, unique experiences. And while many of these things matter, Chris reflects that one challenge seems increasingly important: keeping the main thing, the main thing. In his latest reflection for the BMGS Insights blog, Chris explores the role of teacher clarity, purposeful learning design, and the importance of helping students understand not only what they are learning, but why it matters. “One of the strongest reminders for me during the Futures Tour was that innovation in education is not about chasing every new idea. It is about building learning experiences that are purposeful, coherent and genuinely meaningful for students.” Read the full reflection below. https://lnkd.in/gM7NmiKG #Education #LearningDesign #DeeperLearning #SchoolLeadership #FutureOfEducation
