When time and budgets are under pressure, mentorship is often one of the first things to go. Should it be? That was the question at the heart of the WACL Empower Café discussion, hosted by Hilary Gray, Head of Marketing & Associate Director at Bloom UK & Propeller Group, and Nafissa Norris (née Jeetoo), President of Bloom UK and the Conscious Advertising Network Joined by Yolande Battell, Jason Warner, and Amira Williams, the panel explored whether reducing investment in mentorship is a false economy, and how organisations can continue to support talent in a rapidly changing world. Three ideas kept coming up: 💜 Mentorship is an investment, not a cost. The value it creates for individuals, organisations and our industry far outweighs the time invested. ⏱️ Effective mentorship doesn't have to be time intensive. When mentors and mentees are equally committed, with clear goals and expectations, even small amounts of focused time can have a lasting impact. 🤝🏾 Community strengthens careers. Building networks, sharing experiences and supporting one another creates opportunities that benefit everyone. Thank you to everyone who joined us for such an open and thoughtful discussion.
