Penny joined Bloomsbury in 2018 and served as CFO for eight years, retiring in February 2026. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in the company's growth and financial stewardship, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues across the business. Nigel Newton, Chief Executive of Bloomsbury, said: "Penny was a cherished colleague, friend and source of encouragement to many people in Bloomsbury until her retirement in February after eight wonderful years as our CFO. She brought dedication and passion to everything she did for Bloomsbury and in her personal life including her dedication to her sailing charity. She looked out for everyone. She will be hugely missed by all of us." Beyond her professional achievements, Penny was deeply committed to the causes she cared about, including her role as Chair of the Ocean Youth Trust South charity.  In lieu of cards and flowers, Penny asked that donations be made to this charity, which was very close to her heart https://lnkd.in/eP8qgHqi Bloomsbury extends its deepest condolences to Penny's husband Edd, her family, friends and all those who knew and loved her.
