Your club just posted a last-minute winner. 40,000 likes in an hour. Tomorrow, you will know none of them. Not an email. Not a phone number. Not one verified fan. That's the 0% problem in club marketing: the exact moments your fans engage the hardest are the moments you own the least. Even a standout SuperApp launch runs into this. Vitória Sport Clube pulled in 5,000 new users in 10 days, more than half of what their old app collected in two years. Still, only 15% of their social followers converted into app users. The other 85% stayed exactly where they started. Qarabağ FK flipped the ratio. In-app engagement went from 20% relative to social to 65% verified in-app engagement, just by moving the relationship into a channel they control. Once fans are inside an owned channel, the numbers change completely: 70% opt in 100% of accounts carry a verified email 70% share a phone number. None of that happens on Instagram.
