Our CEO Deb Deshayes attended the 2026 Round Table Conference on Information Access for People with Print Disabilities this week, joining advocates, researchers, educators and technology leaders from across Australia and internationally in conversations about accessibility, inclusion and systemic change. Across the conference program, presenters explored how accessibility can be strengthened through innovation, collaboration and lived experience. Opening sessions highlighted the enduring importance of braille literacy as a tool for empowerment, education and connection, alongside conversations about tactile learning and improving access for future generations of braille users. The conference also examined the opportunities and challenges emerging through AI and assistive technology, and the need for inclusive design across education, employment, healthcare, museums, the arts and public spaces. Discussions focused on practical pathways to improving access, from accessible procurement and co-design practices to advances in tactile graphics, STEM participation, dual media learning resources and accessible technology development. A strong theme throughout the conference was that accessibility works best when it is embedded from the beginning, shaped alongside people who are blind or vision impaired, and recognised as essential to full participation in everyday life. Thank you to Round Table and all presenters, organisers and attendees for contributing to such an important and thoughtful program. #Roundtable2026 #PrintDisability #RTAccess
