Most account takeovers don't come from exotic exploits. They come from reused passwords. Around 94% of leaked passwords turn out to be reused, and stolen credentials are the entry point in roughly one in five breaches. The 23andMe case in 2023 is the clearest example: attackers used passwords reused from old leaks to log into about 14,000 accounts, which exposed data on roughly 6.9 million people, without ever breaching 23andMe's own systems. For an exchange, this matters. The weakest link in most users' security usually isn't the platform, it's a password they reused somewhere else years ago. Protecting people means taking that seriously, not just securing our own infrastructure. That's why we partnered with Sticky Password, founded by former AVG antivirus executives with 25 years in consumer security, to give every BitMart user a way to close that gap.
