What happens when passionate educators from 17 schools come together to collaborate and create? The ripple effects will reach hundreds of students across the Kansas City metro, Topeka, and Leavenworth! This week, we kicked off the first of two KC STREAM summer workshops, made possible by the generous support of the Brown Family Charitable Foundation - Kansas City. Our STREAM Fellows explored innovative ways to bring hands-on, meaningful learning to their classrooms. New this year: Writing Lab Director Janie Woods led a session on literacy and project-based learning, while Kristen Thompson, who will serve as STREAM Director at Bishop Ward shared practical applications of 3D printing across grade levels. Throughout the fall semester, each of these 31 fellows will implement a STREAM project in their school before returning in January to present their work, share what they learned, and inspire the next round of innovation. We are grateful for these dedicated educators and excited to see how their work will inspire students across the region!
