My LinkedIn is like a national obituary page right now. So many people announcing they’re out of work. And with the tens of thousands of layoffs that have already happened over the past 3+ years, any jobs that might become available will have hundreds (if not thousands) of applicants. This means employers will hunt for 100% perfect fits for roles. Because no matter the minutiae of the requirements, there’s a *chance* the person who matches up everything they want is out there. I can’t even imagine what coming into the industry as a junior right now would be like.
