People of BioVendor – The curiosity and courage of Jana Rybaříková The professional journey of Jana Rybaříková from our Technology Development Division has been anything but conventional. From studying zoology and conducting field research to pursuing a PhD focused on antibiotic resistance in wild birds and flies, and later working in the laboratories of CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology, she has always been driven by curiosity and a desire to discover new things. When, after years of intensive scientific work, she felt the need for a change, she wasn’t afraid to step outside her comfort zone. She moved to Iceland, worked on a farm, baked bread, organized events, and explored new directions that would be meaningful not only professionally but also personally. Thanks to this diverse career path, Jana now excels at combining scientific expertise with the organization of professional events at BioVendor. She is involved in preparing conferences, workshops, and presentations, while also keeping track of the latest publications and developments in the field of biomarkers. She is also an integral part of the BioVendor Academy educational initiative, which connects academia with hands-on experience in our laboratories. In addition, she is involved in the Future Shapers project, which supports students and inspires young people to pursue STEM studies. Her story is a wonderful reminder that a professional career does not always have to follow a straight path. Often, it is the courage to embrace new challenges that leads to the most valuable experiences.
