New interventional study highlights Torque-Teno Virus (TTV) as a biomarker to personalise and even reduce immunosuppressive therapy for kidney transplant recipients. This European clinical trial, coordinated by Medizinische Universität Wien, forms the central conclusion of the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project TTVguideTX (TTV-GUIDE). 💡 To demonstrate that TTV-guided dosing of immunosuppressive therapy is safe, investigators used bioMérieux’s TTV R-GENE® PCR assay to quantify viral load and inform their analysis.
