Meet our fellows: Audiologist, Christine Winther   Q: What area have you and your team been working within at BioMedical Design Novo Nordisk Foundation Fellowship Programme? A: We work with malnutrition and machine learning. We focus on the screening process which is both manual and very time consuming and hard work. We want to transform it into something digital, easy and plug-n-play for all the nurses out there. Q: How has that work been for you? A: Since I don’t know coding or machine-learning, I’ve had to learn a lot about that. Malnutrition has also been a new area of expertise, but it’s been so beneficial to be in a multi-professional group with nurse, Niklas Kline Lange Frost and life scientist, Antonio Limatola. We have great expertise within the team, and we’ve been able to benefit from our co-fellow’s knowledge as well. Q: What are the most important learnings you are taking with you from your fellowship year? A: There’s so much work to be done after having had a good idea. A good idea is just a good idea until it makes business. Q: What is your future perspective now career wise? A: I’ll keep on working with our start-up Calces. But I would also like to get a job where I can contribute with my new skills from BioMedical Design. I’d really love to use my clinical background to go drive a project or be a product owner within innovation/venture works. Q: What is your best advice for someone interested in health innovation? A: Don’t be judgmental. Stay open minded and ask all the stupid questions. #career #health #innovation #biomedicaldesign
