🏗️ Another milestone achieved! Fraunhofer ITMP celebrates the topping-out ceremony for its new building at the IIP Site for Immunology, Infection, and Pandemic Research in Penzberg! Following the completion of the structural work, the #Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology (ITMP) has reached another milestone with the topping-out ceremony for its new building in Penzberg. Located on a 9,000 m² site in the immediate vicinity of Roche’s Center of Excellence for Life Sciences, the new facility will bring together expertise in #analytics, #medicine, #bacteriology, #virology, and #protein #biotechnology. 💡 Key facts: 🔹 Around 9,000 m² site 🔹 1,150 m² of usable floor area across five stories 🔹 State-of-the-art laboratories with high-throughput technologies and a biobank 🔹 Around 50 new jobs 🔹 €21 million in funding from the German Federal Government and the Free State of Bavaria 🔹 Move-in planned for spring 2028 The topping-out ceremony was attended by representatives from politics, science, and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, including Dr. Markus Söder, #AlexanderDobrindt, Hubert Aiwanger, Markus Blume, Prof. Dr. Veronika von Messling, Prof. Dr. Dr. Matthias H. Tschöp, and Elisabeth Ewen.
