More technology in the CO2 incubator does not automatically lead to better conditions for cell cultures. Fans, filters, and other fixtures in the interior can actually increase the risk of contamination because they serve as hiding places for contaminants or spread germs inside the chamber. The simpler the interior of the CO2 incubator, the better. A fanless interior significantly reduces the risk of contamination. Smooth surfaces and interiors reduced to the essentials can be cleaned quickly and thoroughly, helping to prevent contamination.
