President (Hartford Office) and Group Health Actuary: Helping employers build competitive, cost effective employee benefit programs
#LocktonCares: Steel Town Community Revitalization Project Continued Proud to become more involved with my hometown Steelton Pennsylvania’s Community Revitalization Project as new member of the #RollerNationFoundation Board of Trustees. Our nonprofit foundation’s capital campaign will be primary source of funds to transform a condemned football field and stadium into a new facility that will include a Community Education, Career, and Health & Wellbeing Hub. This is a generation project to support students and families where 85% of incomes are now below the poverty line with recent closing of 158 year old steel plant. Honored and humbled to work alongside an impressive RNF Board of business and community leaders, all who grew up in Steelton and deeply care about supporting our youth for generations to come in way more challenging conditions then when our community and parents supported us growing up. Our initial fundraising event (August) raised $125k and last week (October) an additional $145k. Corporations and Foundations are witnessing the passion of the Steelton-Highspire community and alumni returning to help; along with the goodness demonstrated from other people/communities (over 20 states) who understand the major undertaking at hand. My heart melts from this outside support and understanding as Steelton does not possess an entitlement mentality. Special thanks for this initial support, which is laying the foundation for productive discussions with major employers and foundations whose philanthropic missions coincide with Steelton’s challenging environment and strategic revitalization plan to help those in need and less fortunate.
