One of the Hispanic PR industry's most respected agencies is entering a new chapter. After nearly four decades, VPE Communications announced that CEO Patricia Pérez is retiring and transitioning ownership of the agency to President Maricela Cueva and Senior Strategist Lorena Alamillo. While reporting the story, one detail stood out: VPE's original name was Valencia, Pérez & Echeveste, named after co-founders Manuel "Manny" Valencia, Patricia Pérez and John Echeveste. With Patricia's retirement, none of the agency's three namesake founders will remain in a leadership role for the first time since the firm was established in 1988. The article also includes additional reporting beyond the original announcement, including details on the ownership transition, VPE's history, and the leadership path that brought Cueva and Alamillo to this moment. Congratulations to Patricia on an extraordinary career, and best wishes to Maricela and Lorena as they lead VPE into its next chapter.
