In 1994 my late father Gerry Holohan was the National President of Skål, the International Association for travel and tourism professionals. The National Convention for Skål in Ireland was held in the Silver Springs Hotel in Cork and the then Lord Mayor of Cork, a certain 34 year old Micheál Martin, held a reception for delegates at the City Hall, and my father signed the Lord Mayor's Visitor's Book. Micheál Martin is now Ireland's Taoiseach (Prime Minister).
