We received this message on our Facebook page from Kenny's mother. We are so proud of our Riverhead, NY team! "My son’s name is Kenny and he has autism. They told me when he was 3 years old that he would never be in a regular school and there was nothing going on in his head. He didn’t say Mommy until he was 7. Guess what? He graduated high school 2 years ago. At almost 21, after a million job interviews, he finally got a job! ⭐️ Today he got his first paycheck!!! ⭐️ It is totally awesome!!! I couldn’t be more proud. Every single up and down was worth it. All of the hundreds of hours of ABA was worth it. Three years of job coaching was worth it. All of the paperwork was worth it. The look on his face when I showed him that he got paid was priceless. We called everyone he knows so they could congratulate him! Life is so great!!! Thank you Big Lots in Riverhead for being outstanding. They not only are willing to give him a chance, they are carving out a path for him. A different path than their other employees. Don’t give up. The road is long and bumpy but totally worth it. #ProudMommyMoment"
