🔬 New research on how Zeology leather supports circular material strategies. In this research our colleague Wouter Hendriksen, collaboration with the LASRA scientific team, explores how Zeology® leather can support circular material strategies. The recently published study “Hydrolysis of Zeolite‑Tanned Leather Shavings” (JALCA, April 2026), examines the behaviour of Zeology leather shavings during hydrolysis and demonstrates how collagen and mineral phases can be effectively separated - an important step toward responsible end‑of‑life scenarios and waste valorisation. For brands working with leather, this underlines a key sustainability principle: material choices made upstream determine circular options downstream.
