Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Government has reaffirmed its commitment to making India a global hub for Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and AI-driven solutions, strengthening the country's role in the global digital economy. Speaking at the CII Global Capacity Centres (GCCs) Business Summit 2026, senior government officials highlighted India's forward-looking approach towards AI, focusing on innovation, productivity and technology-led growth. By fostering AI adoption, encouraging research and strengthening digital capabilities, India is building a robust ecosystem that supports economic transformation and global competitiveness. India's position is further reinforced by hosting around half of the world's Global Capacity Centres (GCCs), reflecting the country's deep talent pool and growing importance as a global technology destination. The expanding GCC ecosystem, combined with sustained investments in AI, digital infrastructure and advanced research, is expected to create high-value employment, accelerate innovation and strengthen India's leadership in knowledge-based industries. These initiatives advance Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision of Digital India, Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047, positioning India as a trusted global leader in AI and emerging technologies.
