🔐 Day 1 of 60: Cybersecurity from Scratch to Advanced I'm starting a 60-day series where I'll Start cybersecurity step by step — from absolute basics to advanced SOC concepts. One topic a day, in simple language anyone can understand. Sharing what I've learned, hoping it helps someone starting their journey. 🙏 ✅ Day 1: What is Cybersecurity? In simple words — Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting systems, networks, and data from digital attacks. Think of your house 🏠: • You lock the door → that's Access Control • You don't open the door for strangers → that's Awareness • You install a CCTV camera → that's Monitoring • You keep valuables in a locker → that's Data Protection Cybersecurity does the same thing — but for your digital world: your laptop, mobile, bank account, company servers, and cloud data. 💡 Why does it matter? Every 39 seconds, a cyber attack happens somewhere in the world. From OTP fraud on a phone to ransomware shutting down hospitals — everything falls under cybersecurity. 📦 The 3 pillars you'll hear everywhere (we'll go deep on Day 2): • Confidentiality → only the right people can see the data • Integrity → data is not modified by anyone unauthorized • Availability → data and systems are accessible when needed Together they're called the CIA Triad — the foundation of everything in security.
