A WEEKEND to PAUSE and looking back to the last month of great work we have achieved with the team at ESGs & Climate - SUSTAINIFY This weekend, I find myself immersed in the tranquil embrace of Yen Tu Holy Forest, nestled in northern Vietnam. 🌿 Yen Tu is not just a destination; it's a journey into the heart of nature's wisdom. Spanning approximately 2,783 hectares, this sacred forest is a sanctuary of biodiversity, home to ancient trees, rare species, and a rich tapestry of life that has flourished for centuries. It's here that King Tran Nhan Tong, after abdicating the throne, sought enlightenment, founding the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect in the 13th century. His legacy endures in the harmony between spirituality and nature that defines Yen Tu. As I walk among towering pines and ancient frangipanis, I'm reminded of the profound connection between well-being and the natural world. The forest whispers lessons of resilience, balance, and the importance of nurturing our inner selves. In a world that often prioritizes growth over sustainability, Yen Tu stands as a testament to the enduring value of living in harmony with nature. To my fellow sustainability advocates and changemakers: I also hope this weekend you will also find some good rest to pause... True sustainability encompasses not only environmental stewardship but also personal well-being and mindfulness. As we continue our work, may we draw inspiration from places like Yen Tu, where the path to a sustainable future is illuminated by the wisdom of the past. Some sharings about the last reading from close circles of thinkers...If you're seeking inspiration for your own journey of reflection, here are four books that resonate with the themes of nature, mindfulness, and sustainable living: - "The Price Is Wrong" by @Brett Christophers, a critical examination of how capitalism fails to address the climate crisis. - "The Hidden Life of Trees by @Peter Wohlleben, an exploration of the secret life of trees and the interconnectedness of forest ecosystems. - "Braiding Sweetgrass" by @Robin Wall Kimmerer, a blend of indigenous wisdom and scientific knowledge about our relationship with nature. - "Slow Down Or Die - Degrowth" by Timothée Parrique, a thought-provoking look at the need to move away from growth-driven economies and rethink what prosperity truly means. And my favorite... May this weekend offer you moments of peace, reflection, and reconnection with the natural world. 🌱✨ #Degrowth #ExternalitiesPricing #NaturePricing #LandProtector
