Sometimes a building is so much more than bricks and mortar. Sometimes, it's a monument. To our best work; work we didn't know we had in us to produce. To people we didn't choose as friends, but who enriched our lives. To a time when our priorities were different, almost comically so in hindsight. In The Banner Columnist and former Capital Gazette Editor Rick Hutzell's reflection, he says at the end that "888 Bestgate is just a place." and that "...landmarks have no power over me."
