Last week, our team worked incredibly hard to produce a graduation student journey series, featuring 18 students from different divisions, backgrounds, cities, and countries. Each story reflects the diversity of our tauira and the unique paths that brought them to this milestone. From their first days on campus, navigating new academic challenges, joining clubs and communities, to crossing the graduation stage, these stories capture moments of growth, resilience, and achievement. Many highlight students’ first experiences at the University of Otago, Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka - a place of many firsts, where students discover new passions, build lasting connections, and embrace opportunities that shape their future. It has been inspiring to witness these journeys and to bring them to life through storytelling that truly reflects our people and our place.
