How do you fit a jet engine into a Citroën 2CV? That’s the challenge at the 135-year-old Grand Théâtre de Verviers 🇧🇪, where we are threading a completely new ventilation system through ornate interiors and heritage-listed elements. The rule is simple: leave no trace! 🏗️ Two years in, structural works are complete, and interior restoration is now under way. Pol Bartholomé, Project Manager at WUST: “𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥. 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦.” Next step: 🔌 800 kVA transformers have just been delivered to site. They will help heat the building before winter sets in, because timber, paint, and restored decorative finishes can’t withstand the cold.
