For the first time, Australia 🇦🇺 no longer needs to send key military aircraft overseas for deep maintenance. ✈️ At RAAF Base Edinburgh, BESIX Watpac has delivered a purpose built aviation hub for the Royal Australian Air Force’s Boeing 737-based fleet, including the P 8A Poseidon and E 7A Wedgetail. At its core: a 240 metre hangar, directly connected to the active airbase, designed to handle some of the most advanced military aircraft in service today. 🫡 Built in one of the country’s most controlled and secure environments, and delivered ahead of schedule! This project strengthens Australia’s sovereign defence capability and develops long-term expertise on home soil, while creating hundreds of local jobs during construction.
