👀🚆 One of those "blink and you’ll miss it"-moments at R4WO 🇧🇪 over the weekend: our teams replaced a railway bridge in just 72 hours. 👷♂️ During one very intense weekend, the old railway bridge at the Zeeschipstraat–Evergemsesteenweg junction in Ghent 🇧🇪 was demolished and removed, while a brand-new bridge, twice as long and twice as wide, was installed on a temporary location right next to its future home. Over the coming months, we will build the new pillars for the bridge. Once completed, the bridge will be moved to its final position in spring 2027. Next to it, a new bicycle bridge for the F42 cycle highway will be installed🚲. Why does this matter? By installing the bridge on a temporary location now, rail traffic between Ghent and Eeklo can continue uninterrupted throughout the next phases of the works. And thanks to a temporary cycle path on the bridge, cyclists will already be able to use the new F42 from 17 July, well before the permanent bicycle bridge is in place. 💪 Another milestone down, many more to come!
