Johns Hopkins??? Me??? For a dual degree(MPH/MBA)?? The celebrations were massive but guess how it all began….right hereeee on Linkedin! One conversation with my academic mentor, Priscilla Abrafi Opare-Addo, whom I met here on LinkedIn was the spark that reignited everything One evening she said something I’ll never forget: “Bernice, once you discover the path God would have you take, go fast and deep into that.” That sent me into the most intense season of prayer I’ve experienced in a long time, with the guidance of my mentor, Samuel Adane And when clarity came, I knew it was time Because in my clinical practice, something weighed heavily on my heart. With all the knowledge, training, and countless hours in the hospital, the best we could often do was help one patient at a time. One diagnosis…One treatment. Yet regardless of the numbers, the waiting rooms never seemed to get any emptier. And beyond those walls? Millions with little/ no access to quality healthcare. And even for many who did, COST remained a problem.. That was the signal: It was time to become part of building equitable and sustainable health systems, capable of serving millions And in this path, God gave the 1% of His 1% best To Kwabena Odei-Kumi, thank you ♾️ for your sacrifices and guidance Nana Boakye Agyeman Badu-Prempeh, I know you don’t like me saying thank you😃, but you have been nothing short of heaven-sent.
