CEO Siemens Healthineers | We pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare. For everyone. Everywhere. Sustainably.
We are backfilling four top management positions with a cadre of leaders from our #TeamHealthineers talent bench, who bring a rich diversity of perspectives and experiences to our Healthineers Leadership Committee. On June 1, Andreas Schneck will take over as Head of Diagnostic Imaging (DI), succeeding André Hartung, who has decided to leave the company after 25 years to pursue other opportunities. Under Andre’s leadership, we significantly expanded our market share in DI, achieved sustainable margins, built a strong pipeline of next-generation leaders, and introduced breakthroughs like photon-counting CT and dry-cool MR magnet technology. Andre had a key role in helping us adopt a clinical conditions mindset, preparing the path to our Elevating Health Globally strategy. We sincerely thank Andre for his many years of dedication and impact. His successor Andreas has held leadership roles across Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging, including leading the MR business in Shenzhen from 2020 to 2023 and the global MR business for the last 3 years. Philipp Fischer will become Head of Advanced Therapies (AT) on June 1, succeeding Carsten Bertram. Until his retirement in 2027, Carsten will support our new CTO with his decades of experience from R&D and Software working for XP, MI, D&A and AT and will serve as Senior Advisor to the Managing Board, reporting to me. Philipp trained and worked as a physician, bringing a combination of medical, scientific, and business expertise. Since joining us in 2009, he has held leadership roles in the cardiovascular domain and the CT business since 2019. On June 1, Sonja Wehsely will take over as Head of Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) from Bernd Ohnesorge, reporting to Elisabeth Staudinger. After years of contributions in various roles, and after successfully heading EMEA for the past 8 years, Bernd has decided to step aside for personal reasons. Given his vast experience, he will be appointed as Senior Advisor to the Managing Board for strategic business aspects and key customer relations. He will also serve as Liaison Officer for the Nürnberg/ Fürth/ Erlangen/ Forchheim area, reporting to Jochen Schmitz. Sonja joined us in 2017 after a distinguished career in politics and public healthcare in Austria. With Central Eastern Europe and Central Asia, she currently leads one of the largest and most complex Zones in EMEA, overseeing business in 30 countries. On October 1, Elaine Becraft will assume the role of CHRO. She will report to Darleen Caron, who will continue as Labor Director and maintain responsibilities for the Americas, Human Resources, Real Estate, and Sustainability. Elaine joined us in 2022 and currently leads HR for Diagnostics. Her experience spans senior HR leadership roles across Europe and the US following her early career as a labor and employment attorney.
