All games iterate. Some iterate within a fixed tech box. Others expand the box first to reach gameplay that couldn’t exist otherwise. Take Doom. Wolfenstein defined a flat, horizontal FPS. Doom made a major technical leap, unlocked vertical space, and the genre shifted. For us, that meant tackling networked voxel physics. Think Minecraft, but where builds can move, collide, and interact in multiplayer at scale. From an engineering standpoint, it’s close to insanity. That path is scary. You set a creative north star and trust iteration to reveal the game as the tech matures, knowing many ambitious projects lose their way along the process. This video is a small glimpse into that process.
