This weekend's huge opening for "The Odyssey" isn't just a win for Christopher Nolan and Universal, but for auteurs over franchises. Something significant is changing in Hollywood when a 3-hour, R-rated adaptation of a 3,000 year-old Greek epic handily beats the openings of Star Wars, Supergirl, and the Minions. In the movie business now, it's looking like a wiser investment to be in business with Chris Nolan, Ryan Coogler, Greta Gerwig, etc. than to just own the best known intellectual property. https://lnkd.in/gAAJC75W
