World Wind Day - Time to look back on a story of success. Today, in 2020, wind energy is one of the most competitive energy sources and an essential component on the way to a CO2-neutral energy supply. It is becoming easier and cheaper to integrate wind power, both offshore and onshore, into the energy system and to compensate for volatility. There is now more than 650 GW of Wind Power capacity installed globally, an increase of 10 per cent to 2018. Last year, 60,4 GW of wind energy capacity was installed in the world, making 2019 the second-best year for wind historically. It is to be hoped that this story of success will continue, that the framework conditions for the expansion of wind power will improve and consequently the goals of the Paris Agreement can be achieved. #globalwindday #windpower
