Goodbyes are for those who love with their eyes. For those who love with their heart and sole there are no such things as separation... It is with great sorrow that I announce that my wife, Bénédicte Rakhorst, has passed away March 28th, aged 48, after just 17 days hospitalization once diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia (apl). According to her colleagues Bénédicte was a deeply compassionate and attentive colleague, always available to the teams. Through her listening skills and approachability, she fostered genuine cohesion and left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside her. In her personal life she was equally committed to be there for the people around her. Always ready to give some of her time to volunteer with activities organized at her children's schools or in the town she lived. She will be deeply missed. In the short period of her cancer treatment Bénédicte was in good hands at the hospital and urged all her family and close friends to donate their blood as a sign of support. In continuation of this wish her funeral ceremony was only decorated with tulips from her garden and those that want to express support to the family a temporary fundraising has been opened in Leetchi. The funds will be distributed to associations to 1) advance (blood) cancer research, 2) collect blood 3) improve support to patients via the following QR code. In fond memory, Jeroen Rakhorst
