African Americans make up less than 5% of all physicians in the United States. Of that 5%, African American women make up less than 2% of that population. We accept the #endthedisparity challenge because representation matters. We matter. We recognize that our presence alone changes the narrative. Thus, we strive to be the catalysts for more favorable health outcomes for our communities.
