🌍 International Scientific Collaboration | Horizon Europe – EmergeNOW 🍊🔬 Within the Horizon Europe–funded project EmergeNOW (“Emergent detection technologies for plant health diagnostics at EU import points”), Dr Eirini Anastasaki and Dr Aikaterini Psoma from the Laboratory of Biological Control are visiting the Plant Protection Research Institute (PPRI) in Hanoi, Vietnam 🇻🇳 from January 12–21. 🔎 The visit focuses on the Asian citrus psyllid (ACP), Diaphorina citri — the insect vector of Candidatus Liberibacter spp., responsible for Huanglongbing (HLB), one of the most destructive citrus diseases worldwide 🍋⚠️. 🤝 During their stay, they are providing hands-on training to Dr Hang Dao and colleagues at PPRI on the use of a portable electronic nose (e-nose) for the rapid, non-destructive detection of ACP-infested citrus fruits 👃🍊. 🚀 This cutting-edge technology helps distinguish healthy vs ACP-infested fruits, supporting the development of fast, reliable diagnostic tools for plant health monitoring at points of entry and strengthening global biosecurity 🌱🛃. #HorizonEurope #EmergeNOW #ScientificCollaboration #PlantHealth #HLB #CitrusResearch #Innovation #Biosecurity 🌿✨
