Trex Company just dropped Boise Cascade Company as a distributor. They've handed Specialty Building Products exclusive national rights to decking and railing instead. They've also kept three regional partners: BlueLinx Corporation, Coastal Forest Products & WS Building Materials. They can do this because business is good, not because it's struggling. SBP got here through M&A. Buying OrePac Building Products last year gave them national reach. That's likely why they got the exclusive. Distribution keeps consolidating. Brands are starting to pick single national partners over splitting volume. Boise Cascade is the name that tells you this is real.
