💡 MedTech now files 1 patent every 30 minutes in Europe. No other industry turns research into real-world impact faster. For 25 years, Cochlear’s Technology Centre Belgium has embodied that spirit: transforming sound into human connection and technology into care. This milestone was today celebrated in Mechelen, home of Cochlear Benelux, together with Mayor Bart Somers, Cochlear Benelux General Manager Niels van Druten, our Managing Director Sabrina Suetens, our Adviser and Governmental Affairs Manager Fadoua Amraoui, innovators and patient advocates. 📢 And there is more good news for people living with hearing loss in Belgium. From 1 January 2026, adults in Belgium with single-sided deafness or asymmetric hearing loss will have access to reimbursement for a cochlear implant (CI). The reimbursement file was submitted by Cochlear. The impact of single-sided deafness on daily life is often underestimated.
