How do you scale a three-person startup into a global artist development powerhouse? You build the digital infrastructure that the rest of the industry overlooked. In our recent Billboard feature, we break down "The Reverse Blueprint", or the global expansion strategy that defined Believe’s journey over the last two decades. When we expanded internationally, many emerging markets were still deeply physical. In fact, back in 2012, the largest music seller in Indonesia was actually KFC, which bundled physical CDs with meals. Instead of waiting for digital maturity, we accelerated it by: - Hiring local experts who understood regional history, nuances, and cultural values. - Translating our interfaces into regional languages to remove barriers for independent creators. - Educating physical-first labels on how to manage data and transparently track digital royalties. The economic impact speaks for itself. Today, local music thrives globally - in India, 78% of total streams are now for local artists. Across APAC and Africa, Believe has paid back hundreds of millions of euros in royalties directly into local ecosystems, allowing independent artists, songwriters, labels, and publishers to build sustainable careers. #MusicBusiness #GlobalStrategy #InternationalExpansion #Leadership #ArtistDevelopment #MusicCompany #EmergingMarkets
