Fifteen years ago, I started what became Global Wellness Day with a very simple idea: that one day each year could remind people to pause and reconnect with their wellbeing. Over the years I’ve learned something surprising. Some of the “wellness” habits I once believed in most… were actually exhausting me. I used to treat wellness almost like an achievement. Trying to keep up with routines, saying yes to every opportunity, pushing through travel and jet lag, following strict formulas for how life should be lived. But over time I realised wellbeing doesn’t really work like that. For me, it has become much quieter. 🌿A walk in the morning. 🌿Moments of stillness. 🌿Protecting my energy. 🌿Respecting the natural rhythm of the day. 🌿Spending real time with people I care about. Nothing dramatic. Just small things that help me feel like myself again. These days, wellness feels less like something to achieve - and more like something to gently return to. As we approach the 15th anniversary of Global Wellness Day ® on June 13, I find myself reflecting on how much my understanding of wellbeing has changed. How about you?
