“ I don’t know “ could well be the wisest, most professional and most helpful answer / advice a medical or mental health worker could give to its patients. Especially with diseases with no biomarkers yet, like PAIS ( MEcfs, LongCovid, chronic Lyme, sepsis, Qfever etc), humility and acceptance of our ignorance is key. Most importantly is not to resort to the false conclusion that there is no biomedical disease or that symptoms are psychological when we can’t find biomarkers. The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
