From drones and AI-driven heat mapping to health worker training: Climate-health innovation in action across Asia Across Asia, climate change is no longer just an environmental threat in the distant future; it is now a growing health risk. From rising heat stress to the spread of infectious diseases, its impact is increasingly visible, particularly among vulnerable communities. However, funding to address these challenges remains limited. To help bridge this financial gap, together with AVPN and other funders, we launched the Climate x Health Lighthouse Fund – a philanthropic pooled fund accelerating high‑impact climate‑health innovations across the region. Some months into the fund, here are three examples of solutions supported and their impact: 🔹 In Indonesia, KUMPUL (CARES) equips frontline health workers with climate‑driven tuberculosis through training, capacity building, and local action plans. 🔹 In India, Chintan (Environmental Research and Action Group) (HeatWise Women) uses AI‑powered heat mapping and community‑led action to identify high‑risk households and train local women to implement low‑cost cooling solutions such as reflective roofing and insulation. 🔹 In the Philippines, SORA Technology uses drones and AI to detect mosquito breeding sites and enable precision dengue prevention. Together, these initiatives show how locally driven innovation and targeted funding can strengthen climate resilient health systems and help communities better respond to a changing climate. 🔗 Read the full article via the link in the comment. #SocialInnovation #ClimateHealthInnovation #ClimateChange
