Health Canada has approved our chikungunya vaccine for individuals aged 12 years and older. This marks an important scientific milestone, as this vaccine is now approved in another country, helping to protect people against this mosquito-borne disease. With this decision, the vaccine is now approved across five regulatory regions – the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Canada – reflecting growing recognition of the underlying science and the need for additional tools to help prevent chikungunya. As a company focused on improving and saving lives through vaccines, every new approval is an opportunity to help reduce the burden of vaccine-preventable diseases for people who live, work or travel in affected regions.
