Yesterday, we reflected on the power of youth and the opportunities we create to unlock potential. Today, we’re proud to share that BASF in South Africa is a finalist across three categories at the Nedbank Oliver Top Empowerment Awards 2026, taking place tomorrow, 18 June. This recognition comes at a defining moment for our business. As we mark 60 years in South Africa and 161 years globally, we reflect on a journey shaped by purpose—and now strengthened by becoming the first non–South African multinational chemical company to achieve Level 1 B-BBEE. More than a milestone, it tells the story of years of intentional investment in people, transformation, and inclusive growth: 💡 Empowering communities through long-term socio-economic initiatives 💡 30% black women ownership 💡 R160m+ invested in black female students and STEM education 💡 Growing black-owned suppliers within our value chain From classrooms to careers, and from small businesses to scale, our focus remains clear: Creating real opportunities that drive ownership, growth, and economic participation. Tomorrow, we celebrate with others shaping South Africa’s future. #TopEmpowermentAwards #Level1BBBEE #WomenEmpowerment #STEM #InclusiveGrowth
