ONLINE FIRST! How does Christian religiosity impact managerial decision-making under the lens of socioemotional wealth? To answer this question, Thomas M. Brunner-Kirchmair, Markus Dick, Eva Wagner, and Helmut Pernsteiner (Johannes Kepler University Linz) draw on managerial decisions in the area of mergers and acquisitions. The study shows that the decision-making of religious family actors is not necessarily driven by heightened trust or community expectations, as previous research suggests, but that heightened loss aversion and Christian ethics play a key role in shaping their decisions.
