Student researcher Lucy McGee (’27) was awarded Best Poster at The City University of New York Celebration of Undergraduate Research for her research examining how a gene linked to neurological disorders helps organisms develop. 🔍 Her project, “Epilepsy gene prickle required for Drosophila development in gut and trachea cells,” was among 235 presentations highlighting student research across CUNY colleges, with the Best Poster award presented to one faculty-mentored undergraduate per CUNY college. “It was rewarding interpreting the results, see my poster come together, and view all the research happening on other CUNY campuses,” said McGee. 🏙️ “By presenting her work at multiple stages, she developed a strong understanding of both the background material and the experimental design, culminating in this latest presentation, which included the results,” shared Dr. Rebecca Spokony, McGee's faculty mentor. 💬 Learn more about McGee's work and student research at Baruch College here: https://lnkd.in/gtAaMZ6i Weissman School of Arts and Sciences at Baruch College #StudentResearch #BaruchCollege #CUNY #NYC
