Hear from Charlotte Mustoe, Director of Operations for North East and South East London Pathology Network, as she looks back on what the network has achieved since forming five years ago. "I’m really proud to reflect on five years of the NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership and what we’ve achieved together. "Formed in 2021 under NHS England, the partnership brought together Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust to create a single pathology network serving 3.5 million people. "In just three years, we’ve delivered a huge transformation - moving to a hub and spoke model based at The Royal London Hospital, supported by a single LIMS (the system that tracks and manages samples and results across all our labs) and a shared quality management system, with full integration completed in 2024. "Along the way, we’ve hit some big milestones including bringing labs onto one system, achieving a single UKAS accreditation, upgrading facilities, improving turnaround times, and expanding specialist and genomic services. "This hasn’t been easy and is down to the hard work, collaboration and commitment of teams across the network. "Now the focus is on building on that progress and continuing to improve outcomes for patients through faster, more consistent and high-quality testing. "We’ve built some strong foundations and I’m excited for what comes next!" 🔬🦠
