Congratulations to Mr Pramit Khetrapal, Specialty Registrar in Urology at Royal London Hospital, who has been awarded the first ever NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) Academic Clinical Lecturer post in Urology at Queen Mary University of London 🎉 👏 Mr Pramit Khetrapal is a senior Urology trainee and holds a PhD in digital health and perioperative care, focused on robotic surgery for bladder cancer. Starting in October 2026, Pramit will split his time between academic research at Queen Mary’s and clinical practice in University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust robotic cancer surgery team. The aim of this prestigious four-year NIHR post is to improve access to major urological cancer surgery, tackling health inequity using digital pathways such as remote monitoring and app-based patient questionnaires. 🗣️ On the appointment, Pramit said: "I’m delighted to be taking up this post. Having spent much of my training at Barts Health, it is particularly meaningful to develop research that could directly benefit the patients and communities I have worked with clinically. Over the next four years, I hope to build clinical trials that use digital tools to make major urological surgery more accessible and improve the way patients are supported before and after treatment.
