Last Friday, I accidentally ended up at a Reform march. Not politically. Genuinely by accident. I thought the crowd was for free tote bags or perhaps an unusually passionate queue for Greggs. Anyway. One man handed me a flag before I’d even processed where I was. Another asked if I was “here for the country.” I nodded because, technically, I was physically located inside it. Spent the next 40 minutes walking beside people discussing the collapse of Britain while a man in wraparound sunglasses live streamed vertically at 3% battery. Strange experience. Educational, even. Here are 3 things it taught me: 1. Everyone thinks they’re the reasonable one. Doesn’t matter where you are, protest, classroom, group chat, LinkedIn comments. Every single person believes they are the last functioning mind in a collapsing society. 2. Most people are just looking for belonging. Politics, football clubs, societies, fandoms. Humans will stand in the rain for hours if it means feeling part of something larger than themselves. Sometimes it’s ideology. Sometimes it’s just matching flags. 3. Nobody actually knows what’s going on. Journalists were confused. Protesters were confused. Police were confused. I was mainly confused why someone brought a Bluetooth speaker the size of a dishwasher. Eventually I escaped via Pret. Still not entirely sure what Reform is reforming. But I respect the cardio. Open to opportunities. #linkedin #careers #success #motivation #leadership #growthmindset #productivity #students #university #oxford #networking #opportunities #internships #earlycareers #futureleaders #personaldevelopment #mindset #education #innovation #technology #ai #artificialintelligence #web3 #startup #entrepreneurship #business #corporatelife #workplace #branding #contentcreation
