I remember walking across the ramp at Aéroport Paris-Beauvais many years ago having arrived on a Ryanair - Europe's Favourite Airline flight from Dublin Airport I can’t remember exactly how many Ryanair aircraft were there but as I walked into the terminal I had a great view of the "Echo India" registration markings on the aft fuselage of each. Such a sense of pride. An Irish airline resetting the rules of the game across Europe. And then there’s this current news story of 620 unincumbered aircraft in 2026. While this is obviously getting plenty of airtime as a news story I’m not sure the insane success of the story is really acknowledged. Or maybe it’s just me that’s struggling to get my head around it. Perhaps it’s the case that now isn’t such a great time to celebrate such things given the obvious challenges and struggles experienced by other operators including the unfortunate demise of Spirit Airlines in the US and we heard this morning of European Cargo entering administration. Is there a better example anywhere of such a relentless, persevering adherence to a business plan, philosophy and company culture than Ryanair? Love them or hate them what they continue to achieve will be studied for a long time to come. https://lnkd.in/eBF6PCsf
