𝐁𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 🎙️ The Paris Bar (Barreau de Paris (Ordre des avocats de Paris)) recently organised a three-day event in Paris dedicated to the rule of law. 🤝 The event organised by Carbon de Seze and Charles Morel, under the impetus of the President of the Paris Bar Louis Degos and the Vice-President Carine Denoit-Benteux, brought together: 🔹 83 speakers (including the President of the D.C. Bar, Sadina Montani and Jörg Menzer, Vice-President of the International Bar Association as well as many others, such as Béligh Nabli, François Zimeray, Camille Etienne, Arnaud Gossement, Gépy Koudadje, Rocio Torres Bobadilla, Marine Yzquierdo, Benjamin Fiorini, Tiphaine MARY, Etienne Kowalski, Lauréline Fontaine, Magali Lafourcade, Marie Cornanguer, Olivier Bluche), 🔹 13 moderators (Frédéric Lalance, Gallagher Fenwick, Gépy Koudadje, Sophie SARRE, Etienne Kowalski, Safya Akorri, Raphael Kempf, Benoit BOUSSIER, Anne-Sophie Laguens, Marie Boëton, Virginie Ricaud, Olivier de Lagarde, Jean-Didier Belot), 🔹 and more than 900 participants. 🎤 The President of the D.C. Bar, Sadina Montani addressed threats to the rule of law in a panel also attended by Jörg Menzer, Natacha Polony, Anne-Cécile Robert and Frédéric Lalance. Montani explained "the limitations of mandatory versus voluntary bars for the international audience, citing the U.S. Supreme Court case Keller v. State Bar of California limiting the use of compulsory dues to activities germane to regulating the profession or improving legal services".
