As we finish #blackhistorymonth2022, we’ve invited the passionate & outspoken Shawntae Talbert, one of our Universal Bankers, to the spotlight to close the month with 🔥. Here's what #BHM means to her & why it's important to continue celebrating #blackhistory: "Every Black History Month it’s important that we honor the progress, contributions, and lives of African Americans who’ve shaped us today. To me, Black history IS world history. There are countless Black Americans who’ve played a crucial role in developing and advancing us into who we are today. The greatest inspirational force for me is #rosaparks, the “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement.” Refusing to move to the back of the bus, she spoke for many African Americans who didn’t have the courage, voice, or platform to do so. 'You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.' ~&~  'Stand for something or you will fall for anything. Today’s mighty oak is yesterday’s nut that held its ground.' – Rosa Parks These 2 motivational quotes from Rosa Parks have taught me to never be fooled by anybody, to always fight for your beliefs, and to never tolerate injustice and oppression. Because African American history has been diluted and rarely taught to our Black children in schools, I’ve raised my children to stand up for what they believe. We commemorate Black #teachers, #inventors, #activists of the past, AND we'll continue to celebrate the rise of Black influence as we progress. As Black History Month evolves, the mission of promoting Black Americans’ achievements remains the same – to have equality for all." #withlibertyandjusticeforall #blackmothers
